Wietse van der Schaaf, MBA
Head of Analysis & Research
Dutch National Police __ The Netherlands
Wietse started his career with the Police in 1997 in Groningen. After graduating from the Dutch National Police Academy in 2002, he worked in Amsterdam from 2002 to 2006, where he had the opportunity to experience numerous police disciplines in his management training. In 2004, he was selected as Lead on the first Project on Terrorism undertaking, following the fatal attack on Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam.
Since 2006, Wietse works at the federal level for the Dutch National Police, serving in various management roles within the intelligence field. Amongst other achievements, he developed a new approach to tackle organised crime and high-impact crime, as well as established a number of successful public-private partnerships.
In 2012, Wietse was named Head of Analysis & Research. In this role, he manages all analysts and researchers in the field of information and intelligence at a countrywide level. His main aim is to bridge the intelligence with the public, private and international partners, in order to reach the ultimate goal: full collaboration within the intelligence community. This goes hand in hand with the degree he recently earned from Nyenrode Business University - an Executive-MBA in Public & Private Partnerships.
